The MG Car Club is a very active organisation. One only has to look at the Club Calendar in our Competitive Events sections of this site, to see that the Club has motor sport activities scheduled for most weekends. These activities cover a wide range of social and competitive events - from register runs which allow club members to take their cherished vehicles with historic registration for a run, to hillclimbs, motorkhanas, supersprints and touring assemblies. There are also a variety of social events where people with a common interest in cars and motor sport can meet. Our Club conducts a number of rounds of the state hillclimb championship each year. One of the rounds is the historic King Edward Park Hillclimb - the hill with a rich history. We also host competition with other local clubs through Newcastle Area Motorsport (NAMs) activities and the Tri-Challenge between ourselves and car clubs at Tamworth & Kempsey. We also provide training days for junior, and not so junior, drivers. We have a number of facilities at our Ringwood property near Raymond Terrace. Included on the property are a tar hillclimb circuit, and a series of dirt khanacross tracks. With the help of a motor sport promoter we are in the process of finalising an application for the addition of a motor racing circuit and a drag strip. You do not have to own an MG to participate in the Club. Many members own a wide variety of vehicles from classics through sporting cars to purpose built racers and open wheelers. Welcome to our web site. Greg Hunter |
