The Hillclimb course at King Edward Park (KEP) Newcastle has 3 configurations
- Original Long Course starting near the ocean baths at Newcastle Beach and finishing near the end of the one way section of York Drive
- The Short Course starting on the Shortland Esplanade north of the Blowhole. The course was shortened after part of the cliff collapsed in 2002.
- In the advent of wet conditions, the finish line would be re-positioned to the straight after the hairpin on York Drive.
The last running of the Hillclimb was in 2015 due to the planned construction of the Bathers Way Walk.
There are different sets of class and outright records for NSW State Hillclimb events and other Multi-Club events.
